Problem:

You keep getting this message whenever you try to connect or browse the internet. You may also get this error message when opening certain applications.

This application has failed to start because sporder.dll was not found

Background:

Sporder.dll is a file added by third-party applications to work with the Windows Layered Service Provider (LSP) chain. Most of these third-party applications are internet related such as malware or protection tools.

Solution:

1. The first step is to scan your computer for spyware and viruses

2. If you any of Mcafee products, then you must completely uninstall all their applications , reboot the computer and then reinstall their software. 3 out of 5 cases I had experienced with this error message was resolved by reinstalling  mcafee security center.

3. If the problem persists, then reset the winsocks. Download and run winsockfix:

           http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Network-Tweak/WinSockFix.shtml

4. IF the problem still persists then you need to use the system configuration utility to determine which application is causing the message to appear:

click start => run => type: msconfig and press enter

go to services tab -> check hide all Microsoft services => disable all => startup tab => disable all => ok => restart pc

Check again if you still experience the error message.

If the message stops to appear, then disable each startup/service at a time in msconfig until a certain

To speed things up, usually select the applications that may have some relation with the internet , browsers or connectivity.

To undo any changes in the system configuration utility, start msconfig => under the general tab, select normal startup => restart PC
