1. DSL: When connecting to the internet using DSL, you receive the following error message: ‘Internet PPPOE connection … error 676. line is busy’
= > go to ‘internet connections’ in the control panel => disable all active connections => restart the ‘local area connection’ and then try again. |
2. DSL: When connecting to the internet using DSL, you receive the following error message: ‘Internet PPPOE connection … error 678’
Step1: Download WinSockFix from http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html From a computer that has internet access. Double click on WinsockXPFix.exe => click Fix =>in the Apply the VB_Winsock fix? screen click Yes => Click ok when asked to reboot. 3. Dell Support; When windows is starting, you receive the following startup error message: “Notify Alert Application Error (0xC000015)” And/OR “Rng.exe application error“
Go to add/remove programs => uninstall Dell Support If you wish to reinstall Dell Support, then uninstall .Net Framework first and then reinstall Dell Support. After that you can then reinstall .Net framework |
4. Mcafee Personal Firewall: When attempting to connect to the internet, you receive a pop-up message ‘NetBios Port is open’.
Open Mcafee firewall => click options => security tab => change security level to 4. |
