                                POLYMER  SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND APPLICATION

Synthesis and characterization of multiblock & random co-polymers of acrylamide having hydrophobe moiety, and the influence of polymer structure on recovery and selectivity of proteins into two phase aqueous system.

·         Synthesis of the comonomer having hydrophobic unit.

·         NMR and FTIR analysis of the synthesized comonomer.

·         Synthesis of multiblock and random water soluble copolymers of acrylamide with hydrophobic comonomer (like phenethylacrlamide & p-methoxystyrene, etc.) that gives a remarkable reduction in surface tension and also an increase in viscosity.

·         Qualitative NMR analysis of the synthesized copolymers.

·         Characterization of copolymer by viscosity measurements molecular weight calculations.

·         Formation of Binodal Curve & Tie Lines by making two phase system of the synthesized copolymer with polyethelenglycol & the quantitative fractional analysis of both the phases by NMR.

·         Analysis of the protein separated in either phase by UV spectrophotometer.

Instrumentation experience

·         Ion Chromatograph (ICS2500 & ICS3000)

·         Mercury Analyzer (CVAA &CVAF)

·         Inductive coupled Plasma Spectrometer (ICP OES)

·         UV/VIS spectrophotometer

·         FTIR Spectrometer

·         NMR Spectrometer

·         CHNS Elemental Analyzer

·         Autoanalyzers

·         Dissolve Oxygen, Conductivity, ISE & pH meters  etc.
